The online service kit includes information and order forms for your show services — shipping, labor, electrical, Internet, lead retrieval, and all other specific vendor services. SmartCity, the in-house telecommunications provider for the SDCC, made some small changes on their order forms after the original order form was posted to the online service kit. The phones went up slightly but all call usage is included. SmartCity no longer offers the “WI” at $595 per connection. Wireless Internet for Exhibitors is $99.95 per day — self serve upon arrival at the SDSS. It’s called Exhibitor Internet and is available in the Exhibit Hall only. DMA will provide roving security in the exhibit hall during the overnight hours, but for those exhibitors who would like to order guard service specifically for their booth, StaffPro [the official DMA09 security company] is available to assist you. Exhibitors will need to create an account with Freeman Online (if you do not have an account already) before downloading order forms or placing orders. This applies to ALL order forms, not just Freeman services. There are instructions on the home page of the kit to create your account. Preferred Exhibit Hall Passes have been mailed to those exhibitors with confirmed housing through the DMA09 Housing Bureau. These Preferred Hall Passes may be used to invite clients and/or prospects to attend the Exhibition. Preferred Hall Passes also include admittance to conference Keynote Speakers. Making the most of DMA09 — Collecting and Managing Sales Leads Obtaining quality leads is a key objective for most trade show exhibitors. Turning those leads into sales is what drives business. So how can you do that more effectively? Every attendee on the show floor wears a badge that shows their name, title, company name, and city/state. You have the ability, however, to capture much more information about those attendees who visit your booth. Embedded within a bar code on each badge is a great deal of key information about that attendee, including their job function, business type, planned marketing expenditures, role in purchasing decisions, and much more. DMA has partnered with CompuSystems, the official lead retrieval provider of DMA09 to provide you with tools for managing the entire lead process. Their devices allow you to capture all of the information described above. With the hall closing earlier on both Sunday and Monday, exhibitors have more opportunities to schedule evening networking events with customers. Plus there will be traffic-building events in the exhibit hall including the Passport to Prizes drawings. Listed below are the dedicated exhibit hall hours — 6+ hours when no conference sessions or other conference functions will take place.
REMINDER! PRIVATE EXHIBITOR EVENTS POLICY There are many opportunities during DMA09 to “mix and meet” with conference attendees — on the show floor, in conference sessions, over lunch and impromptu meetings. Many exhibitors also host events, whether these are small meetings with customers or private receptions/dinners. We know exhibitors want to maximize their time with attendees; however it is in the interest of all exhibitors that conference attendees not be asked to choose between spending their time at the convention center or at an offsite meeting or event. With this in mind, DMA is re-instating the policy regarding space release requests at hotels within the DMA block. DMA will not authorize events that conflict/compete with the official conference program and will not release space at the official conference hotels for that purpose.
DMA will again provide meeting rooms on the show floor for exhibitors to meet with customers. The request form will be included in the online service kit. These rooms are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation. As an added incentive to book hotel rooms through DMA, DMA09 exhibitors who do so receive a 10% bonus on their total priority points. Also, DMEF Priority Points are awarded based on individuals from exhibiting companies who contribute to DMEF during the year. Priority Space Selection packets have been mailed to all companies with active priority points and a follow up email is scheduled for later this week. I encourage you to take advantage of the priority space selection to guarantee your participation in next year's conference. Companies who sign up on site not only have the advantage of a full year of planning, you also guarantee to lock in at the current space rate.
